Open VLC media player. Click on Media > Convert/Save, or simply press Ctrl+R to open the same. Add the .mp4 file, you want to convert, by clicking on Add. After selecting the video file, click on Convert/Save. Choose Audio – Mp3 in the profile section then, click on edit selected profile. Make sure that Mp3 is selected in the Encapsulation

You will see the Convert window where you can change the output video format and many other options. Select Convert to see the available output format to convert the video.

Click on the “Add” option to enter the link of the M3U8 video that you wish to convert to MP4. Step 3. Tap the “Download” option to begin the process, and once complete, you can find the MP4 file on your device.
VLC Media Player will convert MP4 to MP3 however I believe it can only convert one file at a time. I have used it to rip audio from video documentaries so I can listen to them on my portable MP3 player. It's possible it might do batch conversion but I never tried. VLC does not install cr*pware or sneaky browser toolbars. Monco
