In Lore, he worked for the Orlesian Army as a commander, so he would've learned it. As a character, him fighting as a noble knight adds a lot to the reveal. The Iron Bull - Reaver. ron Bull actually says that he doesn't drink dragon blood, but he can smell it on the Inquisitor and all Qunari use a "similar technique".
I went Tempest. It's a slight dps boost to my fully-focused Dual Daggers tree. Subterfuge goes out the window with Tempest, though, as you don't get enough Active abilities to utilize Fire Flask well. If you wanted to specialize in Subterfuge more, then Assassin would be your best bet I think.
Formerly a panda, formerly a carnivore. Now just a guy without a catch phrase. Human and Elves have the most impact by far. Elves end up winning. A female elf has the most romance options, a female elven mage has the most unique dialogue in the game. That said, it isn't really wholly equal, and it's not 1:1.

The problem with most of the specializations is that they eventually reach a point where they have one or two abilities that are so overpowered, that there isn't much reason to use anything else and it gets a bit boring. All the specializations are fun at first but lose steam after a while. For rogues, my favorite is a DW assassin.
